Zona R. Levers, age 91, of Norwalk, died Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at the Cleveland Metro Hospital of natural causes.
She was born January 18, 1919 in Clinton Township, OH to the late Cloyd F. Shearer and Myra (Smith) Shearer. She was a graduate of Wooster High School and Wooster Business College. She worked as a secretary for medical offices and from 1960 until 1985 was employed as a secretary for the former A.J. Baltes and Chapin and Chapin Construction. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and was an active volunteer, baker and seamstress. She was an avid Cleveland Browns Fan, and enjoyed traveling to Europe, UK, Nova Scotia, Hawaii and other various destinations.
She is survived by her children, Doug (Becky) Levers of Kingsburg, CA, Greg Levers of Cherry Valley, CA, and Patricia A (Dennis) Shelby of Yucaipa, CA; grandchildren, Christopher, Paul, Lucy, Lisa, Scott, Jimmy and Marty; and great-grandchildren, Amelia, Grant and Dennis; and a sister-in-law, Evelyn Artner of Tiffin, OH; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul A. Levers in 1976; son, John E. Levers in 2009; and a sister, Nyda Finley.
Friends may call on Friday from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. at the Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk, also Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until time of service at 11:00 A.M. at the First Presbyterian Church, 21 Firelands Blvd., Norwalk, OH. The Rev. Adrian N. Doll, pastor of the church, will officiate. Private burial will be held at Wooster Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be sent to the First Presbyterian Church, 21 Firelands Blvd, Norwalk, OH 44857.
