Carolyn Patricia (Sizemore) Russell

Carolyn Patricia (Sizemore) Russell, 80, of Las Vegas, Nevada and formerly of Sandusky, was called to eternal rest on Tuesday, February 19, 2013 in Las Vegas.

She was born on August 8, 1932 in Seneca, S. Carolina to the late Leroy Earl Sizemore, Sr. and Gladys (Stovall) Sizemore.

In 1936, she moved to Sandusky with her parents, where she attended Sandusky Schools. She was united in marriage to Amos Russell. Their union of 39 years was blessed with two daughters.

Carolyn was the first female supervisor at Georgia Pacific (formerly Foster Grant), where she was a valued employee for over 30 years. Carolyn was an active member of Ebenezer Baptist Church, serving as a Bible School and Vacation Bible School teacher, a choir member, a member of the women's missionary union, a membership clerk, and President of the Deaconess Board. She then relocated to Las Vegas in 2005, and attended Victory Missionary Baptist Church until her illness.

Carolyn leaves to cherish her memory, her daughters, Kathleen (Russell) Nuckols, of Sandusky, and Darlene Russell, of Las Vegas, Nevada; brother, Leroy Earl (Patrecia) Sizemore, Jr.; sister, Brenda Parker, both of Sandusky; grandchildren, Anita and Troy Nuckols; great-grandson, Traylyn; goddaughter, Tamara Byrd; godson, Damondre Moultrie all of Columbus, OH; sisters- in-law; brother-in-law; nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Deacon Amos Russell, in 1989; and twin sister, Evelyn (Sizemore) Coleman.

Friends may call from 6-8 P.M. on Monday, February 25, 2013 at Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Funeral services will be at 1 P.M. on Tuesday at Ebenezer Baptist Church, 1215 Pierce St., Sandusky, with Rev. Clayton E. Howard officiating. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery.
