Franklin T. Knerr, age 54, of Castalia, died unexpectedly Friday afternoon, March 8, 2013, at his residence.
He was born March 28, 1958, in Sandusky, and graduated from Sandusky High School in 1976. He then went to firefighter and medic school in Oklahoma, and later became the asst. fire chief for Margaretta Fire Dept. Frank was the co-owner of K.F.J. Cleaning, a franchise of Anago Cleaning System. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Sandusky.
He is survived by his wife Kim (Hinds) Knerr; daughter Linda Knerr; son Jeremy Knerr; step daughter Nikki Milleson; two sisters Linda Eckhardt and Vivian "Susie" Carpenter; two brothers Chuck (Leona) Knerr and John "Fritz" (Beverly) Knerr Jr.; niece Katie (John) Driscoll and great nephew John "J.D." Kurt.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents John and Vivian (Wiley) Knerr; sister Helen Irwin; and brother Henry Knerr.
Friends may call from 2-4 and 7-9 PM Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at Ransom Funeral Home, 610 S. Washington St., Castalia, where services will be held on Thursday, March 14, 2013, at 1:00 PM. Pastor David Flack will officiate. Burial will be in Castalia Cemetery.
