Avery Pool, 91, of Norwalk, Ohio, died Tuesday evening, March 12, 2013 in Gaymont Nursing Center.

He was born June 28, 1921 in Mansfield, Ohio to the late Frederick G. and Bertha B. (Armstrong) Pool and lived in this area most of his life. Avery was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving in W.W. II. He was a member of the Norwalk First United Methodist Church, and Mt. Vernon Lodge #64 A.F. & A.M., Norwalk, Ohio. Avery worked with his parents at the Isaly Store in Norwalk, was a former machinist at Kuhlman Machine Shop and retired from Automation Equipment. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking and carving, gardening ,bowling, and leather tooling, but his biggest joy was entertaining family and friends with his sense of humor and pockets full of surprises.

Avery is survived by his wife of 70 years, Helen L. (VonSeggern) Pool of Norwalk, Ohio, and by his daughters, Judy K. Emmons of Norwalk, Ohio, Nancy A. Eidson of Bowling Green, Ohio, and Laura L. Frisbee of Perkins, Ohio, and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Linda Sue Pool, and by his sisters, Edith Stall and Carol Renna.

Friends may call on Friday, March 15, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. in the Norwalk First United Methodist Church, 60 West Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio. Rev. Gary Streiff will officiate. Walker Funeral Home, 98 West Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio is in charge of arrangements.
