LaVern "Jackie" Franklin, 84, of Norwalk, Ohio, died Friday, March 29, 2013 in Gaymont Nursing Center.
She was born September 23, 1928 in Norwalk, Ohio to the late Frank W. and Bernice F. (Smith) Bartholomew. Jackie was a member of the Moose Lodge #1248, Eagles Aerie #711, Ken Bur Bell Post #41 American Legion, and Firelands Post #2743 Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliaries. She enjoyed cooking and helping out at the clubs kitchens. Jackie especially enjoyed the companionship of her dog, Sugar.
She is survived by her son and daughter in law, William T. and Rebecca Franklin of Norwalk, Ohio, by her grandson and his wife, Jeffrey and Cindy Franklin of Prescott Valley, Arizona, by her cousin and caregiver, Wayne Smith of Norwalk, Ohio, and several nieces and nephews.
Jackie was preceded in death by her husband, William Franklin in 1973, by her granddaughter, Michelle Franklin in 1992, and by her sisters, Margaret Rinehart, Ila Sheldon, and Ethel Horn.
Friends may call on Monday, April 1, 2013 from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service at 3:00 p.m. in Walker Funeral Home, 98 West Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio. Rev. Paul Lamb, Pastor of Norwalk First Baptist Church will officiate. Inurnment will be in North Fairfield Cemetery.
