Eleanor E. Jackson, 89, formerly of Milan, Ohio, died Saturday, April 6, 2013 in Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky, Ohio.
She was born June 30, 1923 in Grand Island, Nebraska to the late Clifford and Mildred (Hiemer) Corbin and came to this area in 1949. Eleanor had attended the Milan Friends Church. She had worked for General Motors in Sandusky, Ohio for 15 years and was a retired member of U.A.W. Local #913. She enjoyed playing bingo, and she loved her dogs and pets.
She is survived by her son and daughter in law, Wayne and Marilyn Jackson of Castalia, Ohio, by 10 grandchildren, and 21 great grandchildren, by her sister, Carmen Johnson of Wenatchee, Washington, and Nona Bane of Scranton, Iowa, and by numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, William Leroy Jackson, in 1996, by her daughter, Brenda Mowry, in 1976, by her son Danny Jackson, in 1995, and by her brother, Robert Silbaugh of Spokane, Washington. She was also preceded by her granddaughter, Heather Jackson, by great grand children, Devon Jackson in 1995 Hallie Jean Kohlmeyer in 1998, and by great great grandchildren, Celina and Wayne Jackson IV.
Friends may call on Tuesday, April 9, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in Walker Funeral Home, 98 West Main St., Norwalk, Ohio, where funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be in Scott Cemetery.
