Eva L. Reed, 82, Sandusky, went home peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, December 2, 2010 in Firelands Reg. Medical Center.
She was born on January 12, 1928 in Daphne, Alabama to the late Henry and Mary (Williams) Pollard. Eva married James Reed and moved to Sandusky in 1951, where she was employed by the Erie Co. Detention Home, City Taxi, and Community Action Center. Her favorite pastimes were spending time with her family, watching her Cleveland Indians, cooking, fishing, and playing cards. Eva was known to those she loved as "Ma", "Aunt Eva", and "Miss Eva". She touched the lives of many people in Sandusky.
Eva leaves to celebrate her life, her daughters, Annice "Neicy" (Charles) Marshall, and Darlene (Mark) Gowdy, both of Sandusky; sons, James "Bo" (Mary Ann) Reed, Ricky Reed, and Marvin (Jasonna) Reed, all of Sandusky; a multitude of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; special nieces, Ruthann Farris Fletcher and Dorothy L. Farris; special nephews, Walter L. "Bully" Farris and Freddie L. "Sugarman" Farris; other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, daughters, Mary Frances Reed and Shirlene Reed; sons, Clifford E. Reed and Dennis Reed; and grandchildren, Diego L. Haney and Charlisa Marie Reed.
Friends may call on Thursday, December 9, 2010 from 11 A.M. until time of funeral services at 1 P.M. in Ebenezer Baptist Church, 1215 Pierce St., Sandusky. Elder Clinton Gray will officiate.
