Harry E. Shaw, 92, of Norwalk, Ohio, died Monday, April 15, 2013 in Fisher-Titus Medical Center.

He was born December 17, 1920 in Richwood, Union County, Ohio, to the late Harrison and Ethel Mae (Thomas) Shaw and came to the Norwalk, Wakeman, and Sandusky, Ohio areas in 1955 from North Lewisburg, Ohio. Harry was a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard/Merchant Marine serving during W.W.II. He was a former millwright working for the Pennsylvania Railroad in Columbus, Ohio, the Ford Motor Company in Sandusky, Ohio, and Bendix in Elyria, Ohio where he retired in 1983. He was a 58 year member of Blazing Star Masonic Lodge in North Lewisburg, Ohio before demitting to Gibson Lodge #301 of Wakeman, Ohio in 2004. Harry was a member of Royal Arch Star Chapter #177 of Wakeman, Ohio. He petitioned Royal and Select Masons Council #24 of Norwalk, Ohio in 1972, Commandery of Knight Templar #18 of Norwalk, Ohio, and joined the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Toledo, 32 Degree in 1984. Harry was made a member of Ohio Priory #18, Knights York Cross of Honour in 1984, and joined the Firelands Scottish Rite Association, Valley of Toledo, Huron County, Ohio in 1986 and served as its president in 2001. He became Sovereign Master of North Central Council #223 in 2004. He received his 65 year Pin from the Royal Arch Masons just a few weeks ago. Harry lived his life by the square and compass and enjoyed woodworking, traveling, fishing, hunting, and boating.

He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Mabel L. (Ewing) Shaw, of Norwalk, Ohio, and by his children, Sonja Simon of Milan, Ohio, Harry E. and Maryanna Shaw, Jr. of Norwalk, Ohio, Ronnie G. and Diana Shaw of Grand Haven, Michigan, and Jerry L. and Marcia Shaw of Wakeman, Ohio, 7 grandchildren, and 20 great grandchildren.

Harry was preceded in death by 10 brothers and sisters.

Friends may call on Friday, April 19,2013 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in Walker Funeral Home, 98 West Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio where funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 20,2013 at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Everett Stoddard, Pastor of the Collins and West Hartland United Methodist Church's will officiate. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
