Mabel I. Wiedenheft, age 91, of Sandusky, died Monday morning, Dec. 6, 2010, at her residence.
She was born Sept. 7, 1919 in Margaretta Township, and attended Margaretta High School. She was employed by National Cash Register for many years and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Sandusky.
Mabel is survived by her husband Alvah, to whom she was married for 70 years; 2 daughters Betty "Wesley" Miller of Sandusky, and Carol "Russ" Stephens of Sandusky; 11 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Dora (Dawes) Meggitt; her son William Wiedenheft in 2006; granddaughters Alison and Carol Stephens; 3 sisters Marie Grasso, Clara Smith, and Dora Borchardt; brother Charles "Jake" Meggitt; and a brother in infancy.
Visitation and services for the family will be held in Ransom Funeral Home, 610 S. Washington St., Castalia. The Rev. Ralph Schibler will officiate. Burial will be in Castalia Cemetery.
