Luella T. (Hein) Stein, 92, residing at Cedar Brook Lane, Sandusky, passed away early Tuesday morning, April 23, 2013 at Stein Hospice Care Center, following a lengthy illness.
She was born on January 6, 1921 in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin to the late William and Theresa (Effel) Hein.
Luella graduated from St. Mary's High School in 1938. Luella was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, where she was active in the Council of Catholic Woman and served as a volunteer for Community Suppers.
She is survived two daughters, Mary Joanne (Donald) Gysan of Sandusky, OH and Barbara J. (Joseph) Franklin of Savannah, GA; a son, Robert P. Stein of Queens, NY; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Including her parents, Luella was preceded in death by her husband, George J. Stein on January 17, 2004; and her sister, Sylvia Mantey.
Friends may call on Thursday, April 25, 2013 from 4 to 7 PM at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky, OH 44870. Prayers will be recited Friday, April 26, 2013 in the funeral home at 12:30 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 1:00 PM at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 428 Central Ave., Sandusky, OH 44870. Father Joseph Steinbauer will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
