Audrey E. (Bahnsen) Heiberger-Dymond, 86, residing in Sandusky, passed away peacefully Thursday, April 25, 2013 at Stein Hospice Care Center following a brief illness.
Audrey was born on July 8, 1926 in Sandusky, OH to the late Carl and Caroline (Behrendsen) Bahnsen.
Audrey graduated from Sandusky High School and was employed as a bookkeeper at Sears for many years. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and Zion Lutheran Church. Audrey was a caring individual who enjoyed gardening, knitting, birds and animals of all types, being outdoors, walking on the beach. She especially enjoyed gathering for family events, raising children, and spending time with all of her grandchildren. She was loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed.
Audrey is survived by her four daughters, Anna (Gary) Dunn of Sandusky, Dawn (Michael) Bauer of Vickery, OH, Ida Mae (Wayne) Cobb of Sandusky and Florida, and Judy (Charles) Good of Norwalk; two sons, Kenneth L. (Connie) Heiberger and Joel (Sandy) Heiberger, both of Lancaster, OH; thirteen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; one sister, Carol Reiman of Sandusky; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to her parents, Audrey is preceded in death by her first husband, Kenneth L. Heiberger; second husband, Walter F. Dymond; brother, Richard Bahnsen; half-sister, Linda Ferstle; and step-father, Frank Stroud.
Friends may call on Tuesday, April 30, 2013 from 5-8 PM in the Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E Perkins Ave, Sandusky. Friends may also call from 11AM until time of Funeral services at 12 PM on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
