Delores (Davis) Edwards, 52, Sandusky, was called from home to rest on Thursday, April 25, 2013, in Stein Hospice Care Center, after a lengthy illness.
She was born on August 7, 1960 in Sandusky, to Roosevelt Davis and Eloise (Hunter) Davis Rainey, and graduated from Sandusky High School in 1979.
Delores was a trusted and devoted employee of Sawmill Creek Resort for 13 years, until her retirement due to illness.
She enjoyed fishing, cooking, playing cards, bowling, and spending time with family and friends, who will cherish her memory.
Delores is survived by her mother and step-father, Eloise and Herbert Rainey, Sandusky; children, Rodrigo (Stephanie) Davis, Dayton, OH, Twanishia "Ne Ne" Davis, St. Petersburg, FL, Keynita Frazier, Detroit, MI, Julius Webb and Quanshenel Webb, both of Clarkville, TN, and Dominic Webb, Sandusky; eleven grandchildren; sisters, Cassandra (James) Edwards, Cleveland, OH, and Jacquie Shabazz, Sandusky; brothers, Calvin Nesbit, Nebraska, and Roosevelt Davis, Columbus, OH; step sisters, Marchell (Donnie) Alexander, Sandusky, Yolanda (Charles) Ocheltree, Elyria, OH, and Angela (Eddy) Morrow, Lorain, OH; step brothers, Danny Rainey, Sandusky, Johnny Rainey, Lorain, OH, and Leon (Pam) Rainey, Huntsville, AL; aunts, Lena Mae Cherry and Elise Hunter; uncles, Dan Hunter, James Hunter, and Irel Davis; special long time friend, Stanford Strauder; and cousin, Kathy Johnson; several other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Roosevelt Davis; brother, Calvin Davis; maternal grandparents, Hester and Ida Mae Hunter; paternal grandparents, Tony and Alice Davis; and paternal great-grandmother, Hattie Davis.
Friends may call on Wednesday, May 1, 2013, from 6-8 P.M. in Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 12 P.M. Noon, in the Ebenezer Baptist Church, 1215 Pierce St., Sandusky. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery. Condolences and gifts of sympathy may be made to the family at www.toftfh.com.
