James A. Scheufler, 83, residing in Sandusky, passed away Sunday afternoon at home unexpectedly.
He was born May 30, 1929 in Sandusky to the late Alfred and Louise (Schemenauer) Scheufler. James was a US Army Veteran serving during Korean War and was a self employed painter for many years. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and enjoyed listening to classical music on the radio, reading, watching television, travelling, his cats and visiting with his family.
He is survived by his niece, Nancy (John) Stewart of Huron, his two nephews, Ron (Irma) Scheufler and Merrett (Lynn) Scheufler, both of Sandusky, and many great nieces and nephews.
Including his parents, James is preceded in death by one sister, Mary Louise Byington, two brothers, Paul Scheufler and Merrett Scheufler Sr., and two nephews, Richard Scheufler and Robert Byington.
There will be no visitation; private family services will be conducted. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery. The Groff Funeral Home and Crematory in Sandusky are handling the arrangements.
