Jonathan D. Francis, 30 of Sandusky, Ohio, passed away in Sandusky Bay while kayaking with his daughter.
He was born August 17, 1982 in Shelby, Ohio. Jonathan attended Plymouth High School and was a former employee of Whirlpool in Clyde, Ohio. He was an avid outdoorsman. Jonathan especially enjoyed water sports, camping, working with his hands, playing guitar, folk and country music, creative writing, and especially enjoyed his family.
Jonathan is survived by his mother and step father, Gwen (Humphreys) and Terry Gwinner of Willard, Ohio and by his father and step mother, Douglas and Debbie Francis of Willard, Ohio. He is also survived by his siblings, Lisa and Michael Back of Greenwich, Ohio, Aaron D. Francis and Lisa Haun of Ontario, Ohio, Ryan O. Francis of Ashland, Ohio, Kristin Humphreys of Shelby, Ohio, and Andrew Gwinner of Shelby, Ohio and his nieces and nephews, McKallah Back, Devin Back, Ethan Francis, Avaia Francis and Liberty Francis and many cousins.
Jonathan was preceded in death by his daughter, Viola E. Francis.
Friends may call on Thursday, May 9, 2013 from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in Walker Funeral Home, 98 West Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 10, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. in Norwalk First United Methodist Church, 60 West Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio. Rev. Earl Sexton will officiate. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Norwalk, Ohio.
