Ethel Alice Lee, 81, of Sandusky, departed this life on Monday evening, May 6, 2013 in the Lutheran Memorial Home, Sandusky, after a lengthy illness.
She was born on March 12, 1932 in Walhalla, South Carolina to the late James A. Rice (McKinney) and Mattie A. (Whitner) Rice.
Ethel was employed at Providence Hospital, where she worked for 22 years. She enjoyed going to yard sales, playing Bingo, and spending time with her daughters, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Ethel is survived by her daughters, Geneva (Robert) Thames and Marlene (Lawrence) Mitchell, both of Sandusky; grandchildren, Charissa Thames, Lakeya Lee, Valerie Thames, James Roberts, and Mya Thames; 12 great-grandchildren; sisters, Rosa Williams and Johnnie Page; and brothers, James McKinney, Harrison McKinney, Christopher McKinney, and Howard McKinney.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Jessie Owens; step-mother, Sallie McKinney; and sister, Cynthia Sanders.
At Ethel's request, there will be no viewing and cremation will take place at Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky.
