Irvin J. Betz, 84, of Sandusky, went home to be with the Lord late Friday evening, May 13, 2013, at Erie County Care Facility, following a lengthy illness.
He was born December 13, 1928, in Gallipolis, Ohio to the late Jake and Rosie (McGuire) Betz. Irvin was a farmer; he worked many years on Bob Evans Farm. He enjoyed life in general, especially being outside riding his 3-wheel bicycle all over town, talking with friends. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
Irvin is survived by daughters, Linda (John) Mallow of McKinney, Texas, Alberta "Judy" (James) Porter of Castalia, Catherine (Robert) Victory of Wolfe City, Texas, and Roxanna (Charles) Binion of McKinney; 35 grandchildren; numerous great and great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
Including his parents, Irvin is preceded in death by his wife Juanita Betz, whom he married June 23, 1969; his son, William Angel; two sisters, Dorothy Houck and Francis Lucas.
Friends may call 5-7 p.m. Thursday, May 16, 2013 at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky, where funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, May 17, 2013. Pastor Ken Hiser will officiate. Interment will follow in Oakland Cemetery, Sandusky.
