Gloria Jean Jones, 53, of Sandusky, quietly passed away on Tuesday morning, May 14, 2013 in her home.
She was born on June 20, 1959 in Augusta, Georgia to Earnest Jones, Sr. and the late Emily "Louise" (Baxley) Jones. Gloria was a 1977 graduate of Sandusky High School, where she received her cosmetology license. She also received a business administration degree and airline steward certificate.
Gloria accepted the Lord at an early age, and kept her faith to the end. She was a funny and loveable person who would "give you her last." She enjoyed reading and puzzles, her favorite being Sudoku. However, her true passion was spending time with her grandchildren and friends.
Gloria is survived by her son, Demario Jones, of Las Vegas, Nevada; father, Earnest Jones, Sr., of Sandusky; sister, Vickie Ritchie, of Sandusky; brothers, Earnest (Jeanne) Jones, Jr., Ricky Jones, Michael Jones, Jermaine (Yvonne) Jones, all of Sandusky, and Tony Jones, of New Washington, Ohio; grandchildren, DeMajie, DeMarea, Deayra, Daion, and Demya; special cousin, Valerie Jean (Redding) Amaechi; and special friends, Kim Durr and Sheria Monegan, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her sister, Janet Jones.
Friends may call on Monday, May 20, 2013 from 6-8 P.M. at Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at Noon at New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church, 1920 Eddy Henry Way, Sandusky. Rev. Curtis L. Johnson, Jr. will officiate. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery.
