Kathleen A. Bolen age 62 of Bellevue passed away Thursday, December 09, 2010 at Stein Hospice, Sandusky.
She was born Nov. 7, 1948 in Bellevue the daughter of Robert & Rita (Good) Bertsch. Kathy began her career in education as an elementary teacher at Immaculate Conception School from 1971 - 1977 and at Clyde St. Mary�s School from 1977 - 2004. For the past seven years she was the principal of Immaculate Conception School in Bellevue. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, Bellevue, Eagles Aerie #490 Auxiliary, VFW Post 1238 Auxiliary, National Catholic Educational Association, the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development and was an intermediate level catechist. She was awarded the Who's Who Teacher of the Year Award, outstanding chairperson award for St. Jude's Math-a-thon, and served as student council advisor at St. Mary's School.
Survivors include her husband, Elbert Bolen, whom she married October 17, 1970 at Immaculate Conception Church, son, Kenneth Bolen of Anna, OH, daughters, Lora (Dave) Pitcher of Bellevue, Jennifer Butler of Maumee, OH, 9 grandchildren, brother, David (Linda) Bertsch of Atlanta, GA, sisters, Sue (Bruce) Roth of Bellevue, Janet (Frank Boron) Welling of Pinehurst, NC.
Her parents preceded her in death.
Friends will be received Sunday, Dec. 12, 2010 from 2:00 until 8:00 pm at Foos and Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, 11:00 am by Fr. Jonathon Wight, at Immaculate Conception Church, 231 E. Center St., Bellevue, OH 44811. Burial will follow at Bellevue Catholic Cemetery.
