Robert "Lee" Sparks

ROBERT "LEE" SPARKS August 22, 1932 -June 5, 2013
Lee went to be with his Lord and Savior at his home surrounded by his family.

Lee had a special time at home to gather with his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family, and many special friends to express his love to each of them, how proud he was of his family and the joy they have brought to his life. He continued to witness his salvation and love for the Lord to everyone that visited.
Lee was born on August 22, 1932 to the late Carl and Bernice Sparks in Willard, Ohio. He was a lifetime resident of Huron County.

Lee married the love of his life Donna (Chapman) in 1953 and enjoyed their 60 years of marriage. He graduated from Shiloh High School in 1950, served in the Navy for 4 years before returning to Norwalk. In 1956 he became the owner of Sparks Gulf and for over 30 years he was known to everyone as Sparky. He was a lifetime farmer and enjoyed farming with his sons and grandson. He was a Norwalk Township Trustee for 20 years and truly loved his community. Lee attended the Norwalk Alliance Church and was a member of the Huron County Cattlemen. He loved traveling with Donna and spending time in their home in Florida.

Surviving Lee is his wife Donna and their children; Susan (Fred) Chapin, Criss (Pam) Sparks of Norwalk and Jeff (Leslie) Sparks of Olmstead Falls, OH. He has 9 grandchildren; Matthew (Tara) Chapin, Libby (Murt) Campbell, Abby (Randy) Blake, Emily Chapin, Michael (Rachael) Sparks, Katie (Josh) Arp, Corey Sparks, Tyler (Hannah) Sparks and Ian Sparks; 8 great grandchildren; his extended family Jim and Katie Chapman, John and Judy Chapman, Gordon and Norma Schaechterle and Russ and Kathy Barnett, many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Lee was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Virginia, and granddaughter Laura Sparks.

Friends may call on Saturday, June 8 from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Norwalk Alliance Church, 2755 US RT 250, and Norwalk, Ohio. Funeral services and a celebration of his life will be held on Sunday, June 9 at 2:30 p.m. at the Norwalk Alliance Church. Burial will be in Hester Cemetery, Norwalk, Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, Lee's wish is to drill a well in Africa. His heart went out to the many children who did not have fresh water to drink and his thoughts were "that in my passing others may live" To make a difference in the lives of the children of Tanzania, gifts can be made to the St. Joseph Mission Fund in memory of Lee Sparks, These contributions can be given to the Sparks Family or the Walker Funeral Home.
