North Fairfield, Ohio - Barry L. Coy, 50, of North Fairfield, Ohio, died Tuesday, June 4, 2013 in Fisher-Titus Medical Center.
He was born April 6, 1963 in Willard, Ohio and was a lifelong area resident. Barry was a 1981 graduate of South Central High School where he was active in F.F.A. He was a former 4-H counselor and Jr. Leader and supported the Huron County Fair Jr. Livestock Auction with the North Fairfield Buyer Group. He was a member of North Fairfield Post #706 American Legion and was a life member of the American Motorcyclist Association. Barry was a former employee of Country Star, Willard, Ohio, Ruggles Feed of North Fairfield, Ohio, was a former truck driver for Norwalk Furniture, and was currently employed at Sunrise, Norwalk, Ohio. Farming was his life but motorcycles were his passion. He also enjoyed motorcross, Cross Country Hare Scrambles, receiving many trophies and awards in the 1980's. He qualified for the U.S. Nationals and had also raced locally in Amherst, Tiffin and many other tracks. Barry was an avid outdoorsman enjoying sports, football, and snowmobiling. He also enjoyed his friends and family.
Barry is survived by his parents, Larry P. and Patricia A. (White) Coy of North Fairfield, Ohio, by his sister, Sharleen M. Coy of North Fairfield, Ohio, and by his niece and nephews. Justin, John, Donald, and Rachel.
Barry was preceded in death by his brother Gary E. Coy in 2001, by his paternal grandparents, Paul and Nina Coy and by his maternal grandparents, Donald and Loretta White.
Friends may call on Monday, June 10, 2013 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in Walker Funeral Home, 98 West Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. in the North Fairfield United Methodist Church, 105 West Main Street, North Fairfield, Ohio. Rev. James Gaston, Pastor of North Fairfield United Methodist Church will officiate. Interment will be in North Fairfield Cemetery.
