Charles Market, 58, of Castalia, passed away early Tuesday morning on June 11, 2013 at Stein Hospice following a lengthy illness.
Charles was born on April 3, 1955 to the late Charles H. and Helen A. (Lawrence) Market.
Charles was a 1974 graduate of Sandusky High School and received a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering at Bowling State University. He later received a degree in Metalurgy as well. Charles worked at US Tsubaki Manufacturing as a mechanical engineer for over 20 years. He was a part-time Retired Sergeant for the Castalia Police Department for 15 years.
Charles was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church. He enjoyed collecting and shooting guns, coin collecting, and fishing. He especially enjoyed spending time with his granddaughter.
Charles is survived by his daughter, Vanessa (Dave) Edwards; grandchild, Serena Edwards; sister, Linda (Nick) Mandrik; two nephews, Kevin (Julie) Mandrik, USAF and David (Jennifer) Mandrik; and several other family members.
Including his parents, Charles is preceded in death by his sister, Karen Market, and numerous aunts and uncles.
Friends may call on Monday, June 17, 2013 from 4-8 PM at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at 10 AM at Zion Lutheran Church, 503 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. The Pastor John Mawhirter will officiate. Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery, Sandusky.
