Eleanor Klein, age 90, of Castalia, died Thursday night, December 16, 2010, in Firelands Regional Medical Center, Main Campus, Sandusky, following a brief illness.
She was born March 14, 1920, in Sandusky. She was employed for 20 years by Margaretta Schools, working in the kitchen, retiring in 1982. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Castalia, and the Women of the Church. She enjoyed gardening and being with her family.
Eleanor is survived by one daughter Gini "Patrick" Casey of Sandusky; 3 sons Alan "Diane" Klein of Berlin Heights, Robert "Linda" Klein of Vermilion, and Glenn 'Debbie" Klein, Jr., of Sandusky; 10 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; one brother Paul "Barbara" Lilje; sisters-in-law Margaret Lilje and Arlene "Forrest" McElroy; brothers-in-law Harvey and Lewis "Susan" Klein; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Glenn Klein, Sr., in 1992; 2 brothers Jack and William Lilje; and 2 sisters Helen Grathwol and Anna Jump.
Friends may call from 1-4 pm Sunday in the Ransom Funeral Home, 610 S. Washington St., Castalia, and from 10 am Monday until time of services at 11 am in Grace Lutheran Church, 203 S. Washington St., Castalia. The Rev. Kathleen Suggitt will officiate. Burial will be in Castalia Cemetery.
