Leroy S. Meyers, age 82, of Sandusky, died Monday night, June 24, 2013, at his residence, following a brief illness.
He was born July 2, 1930, in Bay Bridge, graduated from Margaretta High School in 1949, and he was on the last 6 man football team from Margaretta. Leroy served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, went on to work for Farrell Cheek Foundry, then retired from Fremont Plastic Molds. He was a lifetime member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Sandusky. Leroy enjoyed fishing, and raising small animals and horses.
He is survived by his daughter Jeanne (Ted) Driscoll; son Ed (Dawn) Meyers; two grandsons Tyler and Josh Meyers; sister Marlene Millis; niece Melisa (Kevin) Balduff; nephew Wade Millis; and two great nieces Courtney and Maci Balduff.
Leroy was preceded in death by his wife Kathryene (Fox) Meyers, in 2012; parents Edward and Josephine (Svonazec) Meyers; and brother Rudy Meyers.
Friends may call from 9:00 AM Thursday, June 27, 2013, until time of services at 10:00 AM at Ransom Funeral Home, 610 S. Washington St., Castalia. Burial will be in Castalia Cemetery.
