Irma K. Homan, 90, of Monroeville, died Wednesday evening, June 26, 2013 in the Fisher Titus Medical Center, Norwalk, following a brief illness.
She was born October 1, 1922 in Monroeville and was a life long resident of the area. Irma was a member of the Congregational Community United Church of Christ, Monroeville, the Women's Fellowship of the Church, the Golden Eagles, One Alone, and had volunteered for 15 years at Fisher Titus Medical Center. She worked side by side with her husband as a farmer and at Riverside Cemetery as the sexton for many years.
She is survived by three sons: Marvin Homan of Willard, Roland (Cheryl) Homan of Monroeville, and Randy (Cindy) Homan of Huron, three daughters: Nancy (Edward) Stallkamp of Sandusky, Bonnie Smith and Judy (Richard) Libbee, both of Norwalk, 14 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren, one brother: Richard Leber of Willard, one sister: Juanita Reis of Monroeville, nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Roland in 1981, one daughter: Marilyn Jean in infancy, one grandson: Barry Stallkamp, her parents: Philip & Eda (Weilnau) Homan, two brothers: Lester & Paul Leber, and one sister: Mary Milkie.
Friends may call today (Friday) June 28, 2013 from 2:00-4:00 & 6:00-8:00 PM at the Pfeil Funeral Home, Monroeville Chapel, 109 Monroe Street, Monroeville and on Saturday, June 29, 2013 from 9:30 AM until time of Funeral Service at 10:30 AM at the Congregational Community United Church of Christ, 29 Chapel Street, Monroeville, Ohio 44847. The Rev. Dr. Wayne Chasney will officiate. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery, Monroeville.
