Paul E. Hoelzer, 84, of Castalia, died Thursday afternoon, June 27, 2013, in the Ohio Veterans Home, Sandusky.
He was born May 13, 1929, in Sandusky, and was a 1947 graduate of Sandusky High School. He was employed at Ohio Edison for 42 years, retiring in 1990, was a Sgt. in the US Army, serving in Korea, and was a member of the Congregational United Church of Christ in Castalia.
Paul is survived by his wife of 62 years, the former Jane Hacker; one daughter Rebercca Jane Hoelzer of Sandusky; two sons David (Linda) Hoelzer of Brandon, FL, and Mark (Marsha) Hoelzer of Lewis Center, OH; 7 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; one brother John (Gloria) Hoelzer of Sandusky; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Elmer and Helen (Miller) Hoelzer.
Services for the family will be held Monday, July 1, 2013, in the Ransom Funeral, 610S. Washington St., Castalia, with Pastor John Paputza officiating. Burial will be in Castalia Cemetery.
