Steve Pisarsky, 90, of Sandusky died Wednesday evening, September 1, 2010 in the Ohio Veterans Home, Sandusky following a lengthy illness. He was born January 7, 1920 in Irondale, Ohio and was a U.S. Army veteran of WW II. Steve was employed at the former New Departure-Hyatt, Division of General Motors for 35 years, before his retirement. He was a member of Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Sandusky. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, the former Josephine A. Shilling, seven children: Stephen I. (Mary) Pisarsky, Alice (James) Greek, Norma (Paul) Homberger, all of Sandusky, Gloria (Jac) Dorobek of Vickery, Gerald (Theresa) Pisarsky of Republic, Sheila (Mike) Fountain of Bowling Green, and Jeffery (Jewel) Pisarsky of Findlay, 14 grandchildren, six great grandchildren, one sister: Mary (Ray) Bates of New London, two brothers: Mike Pisarsky of Vickery and William Pisarsky of Whites Landing, nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents, Michael & Pearl (Precillia) Pisarsky and five brothers: Peter, John, George, Alexander, and Nicholas Pisarsky. Friends may call Saturday from 10:00 AM until time of funeral service at 12:00 Noon at the Pfeil Funeral Home, Sandusky Chapel, 617 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky. The Rev. Marty Nassr will officiate. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, Sandusky.
