Robert G. Willis, 62, of Sandusky, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday afternoon, June 29, 2013 in the University of Toledo Medical Center.
He was born on October 18, 1950 in Sandusky to the late William E. and Katherine (Rhode) Willis. Robert was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He drove truck as an independent owner/operator, then for Du Mor, Inc.
Robert was a member of the American Legion Post 83. He loved motorcycles, buying his first Harley-Davidson a couple years ago, camping, traveling, his dogs, being behind the wheel, and his family, especially his grandkids.
Robert is survived by his wife of 41 years, Joyce Willis, whom he married on May 26, 1972; sons, Brian (Shawn) Willis, of Bellevue, and Robert (Dawn) Willis, of Sandusky; grandchildren, Michelle, Meagen, Sabrina, Amber, and Carolyna; a great-grandchild on the way; sisters, Cindy Stout, of South Carolina, and Marie Fox, of Castalia; longtime friend, James Greene; and a host of other family members and friends.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, John "Jack" Willis.
Friends may call on Wednesday, July 3, 2013 from 2-4 P.M. at Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Funeral services will start at 4 P.M. Rev. Donny Greene will officiate. The American Legion Post 83 Honor Guard will provide military honors.
