Ireta Lorraine (McIntyre) Nay, 82, of Sandusky, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, July 23, 2013 in Firelands Regional Medical Center, Sandusky, Ohio.

Ireta was born October 9, 1930 in Spelter, West Virginia to the late Nicholas and Lealon McIntyre. She graduated in 1950 from Victory High School in Clarksburg, West Virginia. Ireta married Samuel (Bill) William Nay on October 30, 1953 in Clarksburg, West Virginia. She worked as a drive thru queen for McDonald's in Independence, Ohio for 17 years. Ireta loved knitting and cross stitch, but her passion was playing cards and dominoes, and being with her family.

She is survived by her children, Billy Nay (Victor) of Amarillo, Texas, Rita (Roy) Linley of Columbus, Ohio, and Charlie (Mariellen) Nay of Norwalk, Ohio, by her grandchildren, Brad, Staci, Nick and Kristy, and 8 great grandchildren. Ireta is also survived by several nieces and nephews, two brothers in law and four sisters in law.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 32 years, Samuel W. Nay, by her infant son, Samuel W. Nay II, by her grandson, Joshua Nay, by eight brothers and sisters, and by a special friend, Pat Melago.

The family of Ireta wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Dr. Keller, Concord Nursing Home, Firelands Regional Medical Center, and to Stein Hospice Service.

Friends may call on Friday, July 26, 2013 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in Walker Funeral Home, 98 West Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio, where funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. Rev. Cathy Oakes, Ireta's niece, will officiate. Interment will be in Milan Cemetery.
