Betty Jane Roth, 86, residing in Sandusky, passed away early Thursday evening, July 25, 2013 at Firelands Regional Medical Center after a brief illness.
Betty was born on June 27, 1927 in Fremont, OH to the
late Joseph E. and Hazel G. (Snavely) Soule. Betty was a member of St. Stephen U.C.C. and served as a Den Mother for the Cub Scouts Pack 27 for many years. In her spare time she enjoyed crafts, sewing, cooking, baking cakes, gardening, camping, and spending time with her family and
friends.
Betty is survived by her twin daughters, Carol Roth and
Cheryl (Jeff) Bambach, both of Sandusky; five sons, Duane (Debbie) Braun of Bellevue, Jeff (Jolene) Braun of Shepherdsville, KY, Randy (Linda) Roth of Milan, OH, Ricky (Wanda) Roth of St. Petersburg, FL,
and Scott (Loretta) Roth of Sandusky; one daughter-in-law, Carolyn Braun of Madisonville, KY; three step-children, Barb (Leroy) Bickley of Guilford, CT, Wayne "Skip" (MaryBeth) Roth of Marblehead, OH, and Donna
(John) Steiert of Huron, OH; numerous grandchildren and
great-grandchildren; two sisters, Donna Aspden and Lynette Spitler both of Fremont, OH; one brother, Charles (Wanda) Soule of Clyde, OH; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to her parents, Betty is preceded in death by her first husband, Rollin Braun; second husband, Wayne Roth; son, Robert Braun; sisters, Mabel Hunter, Luella Engler, Esther Beier, Hazel Moyer, and twin sisters in infancy; and brother, James Soule.
Friends may call on Wednesday, July 31, 2013 from 11:00 am until the time of Memorial Services at 1:00 pm at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E Perkins Ave, Sandusky with Rev. Jerald Fenske presiding. Burial will follow in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron, OH.
