Darlene Bilger, 54, residing in Sandusky, passed away Saturday, July 27, 2013 at home surrounded by family and friends after a lengthy illness.
Darlene was born on January 8, 1959 in Newark, NJ to Anthony and Clementine (Morro) Lisa.
Darlene attended David-Bearly High School in New Jersey, and was a graduate of EHOVE. She was a para-professional and was proud of her work she did in the Perkins Schools. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Erie County Fair Board, Relay for Life, Kawanis Handicap Softball League, Friends of East Harbor, and was a 4-H Advisor for Erie Challengers. Darlene had a tremendous sense of humor, enjoyed classic cars, camping, and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Darlene is survived by her husband of 37 years, Norm Bilger. She is also survived by her three daughters Lisa (Mike Metzger) Bilger of Sandusky, Danielle (Eric) Wagner of Fairbanks, AK and Olivia Bilger of Sandusky; one son, Shane (Emily) Bilger of Sandusky; two grandchildren, Austin and Mason Bilger of Sandusky; two sisters, Donna (Steve) Pittenger and Diane Hand; a twin; one brother Tony (Sue) Lisa; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Darlene is preceded in death by her grandmothers, Amelia Morro and Dominica Lisa; mother and father-in-law, Norman and Leona Bilger; and her two uncles, Bo and Fred Morro.
Friends may call on Wednesday, July 31, 2013 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E Perkins Ave, Sandusky. Friends may also call from 9:00 am until the time of funeral services at 10:00 am on Thursday, August 1, 2013 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 2211 Mills St., Sandusky with Pastor Timothy Nilsen presiding. Burial will follow in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron, OH.
