Georgia L. (Saxton) Gibson, age 62, of Norwalk, died unexpectedly Monday evening, July 29, 2013 at Fisher-Titus Medical Center.
She was born December 21, 1950 in Toledo and attended Norwalk High School. She worked at various businesses and raised her loving children. She was a member of Maple City Church of God and was an active volunteer, and a member of its Women's Club. She enjoyed crocheting,
knitting, reading, word searches and especially playing cards. She loved to spend time with her granddaughters and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughter, Nora (Christopher) Knople of Norwalk; son, Jimmy Gibson Jr. of Norwalk; granddaughters, Haylie (Ryan) Beatty, Courtney (John Miller) Krieg, Emily Knople and Audrey Gibson; siblings, Frances (Bob Smith) Saxton of Norwalk, Gary Saxton of Sandusky, Vanessa (Micky) Mitchell of Collins, Bernadine (Rocky) Frees of Muskegon, MI; special friend, Charles Otis Reed of South Amherst; nieces and nephews
She was preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, Jimmy R. Gibson Sr. in 2005 to whom she married February 26, 1971; parents, George Saxton in 2002 and Frances (Scott) Saxton in 1988; a sister in infancy, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 5:00 - 8:00 P.M. at the Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk. A funeral service will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday in the funeral home. The Rev. Kenny Conley will officiate. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.
