Rita R. Cecil, age 82, of Norwalk, died Friday, August 02, 2013 at Norwalk Memorial Home.
She was born April 17, 1931 in Norwalk to the late Edwin and Helena (Fife) Cecil. She was a graduate of the Sandusky School of Nursing and was a nurse at Fisher-Titus for many years. She was also a nursing instructor for many years, where she touched many lives of patients and fellow students. She enjoyed skiing, swimming, bicycling, traveling, reading and spending time with her family. Rita was a lifelong member of St. Paul Catholic Church.
She is survived by her nieces, Diane (Jere) Ziemke Sherman and Barbara (Jed) Ziemke Hoke; nephews, Thomas (Patricia) Ziemke and Steven (Jayne) Ziemke; also several great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Mary (Cecil) Ziemke.
Friends may call on Monday from 5:00 - 7:00 P.M. at the Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 A.M. Tuesday at St. Paul Catholic Church, 91 E. Main Street, Norwalk. The Rev. Nathan Bockrath, associate pastor of the church, will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Paul Cemetery.
