Iva Marie Carter, age 69, of Norwalk, died Monday, August 05, 2013 at Fisher-Titus Medical Center.
She was born April 28, 1944 in Christian, West Virginia to the late Willis and Dean (Blankenship) Buchanon. She lived in Bruno, WV and helped raise her own brothers and sisters and later was married to LeRoy Carter and moved to Ohio in 1964. She worked at Fanny Farmers for over 20 years, and worked part-time until her retirement in 2012. She enjoyed watching soap operas, cooking, traveling and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her son, Ken (Jodi Micholas) Musser of Norwalk; daughter, Penny (Darrell) Workman of Harts, WV; grandchildren, Jessica (Billy) Slagle, Ryan Musser, Alexandria Workman and Ashley Micholas; a great-grandson, Austin Marrett; sisters, Cora Buchanon of Norwalk and Easter (Skip) Munger of Sebring, FL; a brother, Wyatt (JoAnn) Buchanon of Norwalk; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy Carter in 1983; siblings, Daniel, Rayneil, Gladys, Sarah and Donald Ray.
Friends may call on Thursday from 5:00 - 8:00 P.M. at the Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday in the funeral home. The Rev. Rusty Yost will officiate. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.
