Araminta A. Calderon, 90, of Kissimmee, Florida and formerly of Sandusky, passed away July 26, 2013 at her residence, following a courageous battle with lung cancer.
She was born June 1, 1923 in Boyaca, Tula Columbia to the late Gregorio Ayala and Josefina Rodriguez. Araminta was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church, where she volunteered for many years. She enjoyed being outdoors, gardening, cooking, and spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Carlos C. Calderon; her daughter, Carolina Calderon Barone; three sons, Alejandro, Leonardo, and Carlos H. Calderon; 15 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and cousins in Florida.
Including her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Jose Cruz Calderon, and grandson, Leo Calderon both in infancy; two brothers, Ramon and Humberto Ayala; and two sisters, Elvia and Rosa Maria Ayala.
Friends may call Friday, August 16, 2013 from 9:00 AM until the time of the memorial mass at 10:00 AM at Holy Angels Catholic Church, 428 Tiffin Ave., Sandusky, Ohio 44870. Father Eric Mueller will officiate. Inurnment will follow at Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
