Madonna J. "Donna" Harshberger, 87, of Norwalk, Ohio, died Sunday, August 11, 2013 in Norwalk Memorial Home.
She was born May 21, 1926 in Bismark, Ohio, to the late Aloysius A. and Anna C. (Ringlein) Myers, and was a lifelong area resident. Donna was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, the Women of St. Paul, was the former church secretary, was a volunteer at the church for many years, and was a 1945 graduate and Valedictorian of St. Paul High School. She was also a former secretary at the Norwalk Reflector, former employee of Crow's Deli, and the Modern Market. Donna enjoyed playing cards, crocheting, was an avid bowler, and also enjoyed working outdoors, and taking care of her home.
Donna is survived by her children, Karen A. Davis of Norwalk, Ohio, Allen A. Harshberger of Palm Harbor, Florida, Diane M. and Bill Duncan of Norwalk, Ohio, David J. Harshberger of Norwalk, Ohio, and Michael J. and Maureen Harshberger of Norwalk, Ohio, 8 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother and sister in law, Martin J. and Jean Myers of Norwalk, Ohio.
Donna was preceded in death by her husband, John L. Harshberger in 1987, by her brothers, Robert, Albert, Carl, John, Wilfred, and Herman, and by her sisters, Rosemary Pfleiger and Mary Ann Westhoven.
Friends may call on Thursday, August 15, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in Walker Funeral Home, 98 West Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, August 16, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Paul Catholic Church, 91 East Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio. Rev. Kenneth Morman will officiate. Interment will be in St. Paul Cemetery.
