Mary L. Armstrong, 91, residing in Sandusky, passed away Thursday afternoon, August 15, 2013.
Mary was born on March 10, 1922 in Sandusky, OH to the late Harry and Dorthea (Reinke) Lynn.
Mary was a 1941 graduate of Sandusky High School. She was employed as a Nursing Assistant at the former Good Samaritan Hospital in Sandusky for 12 years. Mary was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sandusky and the Democratic Women's Club. She was an avid fan of OSU football, the Cleveland Browns, and the Cleveland Cavaliers, and she was an excellent cook. In her spare time she enjoyed sewing, coffee time with friends, and spending time with her family.
Mary is survived by her son, Thomas (Peggy) Armstrong of Perrysburg, OH; daughters, Sue (Dan) Brindley of Castalia, OH, Nancy (Jerry) Bell of Toledo, OH and Kelly (John) Colley of Maumee, OH; grandchildren, Thomas and Christy Armstrong, Cortney (Brindley) Rogers, Kirk Brindley, Amanda Pomeroy, Andrew Colley and Jeff Bell; great-grandchildren, Zak Armstrong, Lexi and Katie Brindley, Jordan and Ryan Bell, Emily, Alex and Corinne Rogers, and Holden Pomeroy; sister-in-law, Evelyn Lynn of Sandusky; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to her parents, Mary is preceded in death by her husband, Clayton Armstrong, brothers, Walter in infancy and Karl Lynn; sisters, Erma Kuldau, Charlotte Lortcher, Joyce Cullen and Betty Zahn; and special friend, Sam Becastro.
Friends may call on Monday, August 19, 2013 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E Perkins Ave, Sandusky. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 10:30 am at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 2211 Mills St., Sandusky with Pastor Timothy Nilsen presiding. Burial will follow in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron, OH.
