Beverly Hoerner, 76, of Sandusky passed away early Sunday evening at Twilight Gardens following a lengthy illness.
She was born May 22, 1937, in Sandusky, Ohio to the late William P. and Florence W. (Strub) Ackerman. Beverly was a 1955 graduate of Sandusky High School. She was employed for many years at the Sandusky YMCA where she worked as a secretary. She was a lifetime member of St. Stephens United Church of Christ. In her spare time she enjoyed genealogy research, old-time movies and country music, and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her loving husband of 34 years, Steven D. Hoerner; two sons, Andy and Dean Silcox; daughter Wendy Zellner; her grandchildren, great-grandchildren; two sisters, Donna Kaser, and Elaine (Larry) Jarrell; nieces, nephews, and other family members.
Including her parents, she is preceded in death by her two brothers, William and John Ackerman in infancy; and her Grandma Strub.
Friends may call, Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky, Ohio 44870 from 5-8 PM. Funeral services will be held, Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Rev. Jerry Fenske will officiate. Burial will be held at Sandhill Cemetery.
