William H. Marske, age 90, of Sandusky, died Wednesday, August 21, at the home of his daughter in South Rockwood, Michigan.
He was born March 27, 1923, in Sandusky, and was a U. S. Army Veteran, serving in Europe during WWII. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Castalia, the American Legion Post 83, Sandusky VFW, and the National Rifle Association. William worked for New Departure Hyatt, Sandusky as a machinist, retiring in 1980.
He is survived by 2 daughters Margaret "Peg" Church of South Rockport, MI, and Sharon "John" Laudeman of Phelan, CA; one son William (Tom) "Valerie" Marske of Toledo; 6 grandchildren Jennifer Brown, Rebecca Church, Gregory Church, Zachary Church, Lisa LeMasters, and Laura Marske; 8 great grandchildren Megan, Kylie, and Ryan Brown, Emma and Karlee Church, Allison and Avery LeMasters, and Liam Joseph Foster; two sisters Pat Church and Zelma Day; and his dear friend Pearl Sabo.
He was preceded in death by his wife Virginia Marske, 2008; parents William Marske, 1934 and Leola (Smith) Marske, 1995; step father Louis W. Smith, 2002; half brother John L. Smith, 1951; and sister Geraldine Wagner, 2010.
Friends may call from 10 am Saturday, August 24, until time of services at 11 am in Grace Lutheran Church, 203 S. Washington St., Castalia. The Rev. Kathy Shuck will officiate and burial will be in Castalia Cemetery, with military honors conducted by the American Legion.
