Donn K. Eddy, 67, of Milan, Ohio, died Friday evening, August 23, 2013 in the Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky, Ohio.
He was born August 20, 1946 In Norwalk, Ohio to the late Stanley and Alberta (Weilnau) Eddy and was a lifelong area resident. Donn was a 1964 graduate of Milan High School and was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving in Alaska. He was a member of the Milan Fire Department for 35 years, was an EMT for North Central EMS, was a member and officer for many years of Milan American Legion Post #052, and was a former member of the Milan and Norwalk Chambers of Commerce.
Donn was a former employee of Certain Teed Corp., Erie Black Top, and retired from Maple City Ice in 2012. He enjoyed watching sports and was an avid Cleveland sports fan. He also enjoyed playing golf, dartball, reading the newspaper, and yard work.
Donn is survived by his wife of 42 years, Joan P. (LaRonde) Eddy of Milan, Ohio, by his children, Keith D. Eddy of Norwalk, Ohio and Pamela J. Eddy of Cambridge, Mass., and by his sister and brother in law, Shirley and George Waldock of Sandusky, Ohio, and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call on Monday, August 26, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in Walker Funeral Home, 98 West Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in St. John United Church of Christ, 2712 West Mason Road, Sandusky, Ohio. Rev. Wendy Schindler-Chasney will officiate. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery.
