Candace L. Kelley

Candace L. Kelley, 63, residing in Brooklyn, passed away early Tuesday morning, September 3, 2013 at Cleveland Metrohealth Hospital after a lengthy battle with cancer.

Candace was born on June 8, 1950 in Sandusky, OH to Jim and Marilyn (Brown) Kelley.

Candace graduated from Perkins High School in 1968. She joined the U.S. Navy and was stationed in California. She married Charles Crittendon and they had a son, Chris, who passed away in 2008. She worked as a respiratory therapist at Memorial Hospital. She was also employed as a plant manager at IPC, Norwalk and at Anchor Tool and Die in Cleveland, and she retired from Spero Electric in Streetsboro. In her spare time, Candace enjoyed golfing, softball, her dogs and spending time with her family and friends.

Candace is survived by her parents, Jim and Marilyn (Brown) Kelley of Sandusky; life partner, Sandra Simcox of Brooklyn, OH; grandson, Jesse Crittendon of Munford, TN; two sisters, Lynda (Rick) Finneran and Jacque (Joe) Fresch, both of Sandusky; two brothers, Dave (Gwen) Kelley and Dan (Kim) Kelley, both of Sandusky; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

In addition to her son Chris Crittendon, Candace is preceded in death by her grandparents on both sides.

Friends may call on Tuesday, August 10, 2013 from 10:00 am until the time of memorial services at 11:00 am at Groff Funeral Homes and Crematory, 1607 E Perkins Ave. Sandusky, OH 44870. Burial will follow in Bloomingville Cemetery, Oxford Township, OH.
