Charles Sanders, 63, of Bay View, passed away late Friday evening, September 6, 2013 at Firelands Regional medical Center, following a lengthy illness.
He was born June 24, 1950 in Sandusky to the late Charles and Irene (Leidorf) Sanders.
Charles loved the outdoors; he enjoyed fishing, playing horseshoes, listening to country music, and drinking Old Milwaukee. He was an avid Cleveland Browns, and Ohio State football fan. He enjoyed spending time with family, and the company of others.
He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Rose (Bango) Sanders; four children, Kim (Joe) Butts of Bellevue, Kelly Gibbs of Sandusky, Kristi (Bob) Rzasa of Markle, IN., and Chuck (Pattie) Sanders Jr. of Monroeville; 12 grandchildren, Joey, Brittany, Corey, Charlie, Danny, Brooke, Chad, Trey, Jordan, Carly, Zach, and Jaysen; six great-grandchildren, Ja-Zaiviaire, Jaiden, Cali, Michael, Ryker, and Mariyah; four siblings, Sherry (Dave) Clark, Rosey Brewer, June (Dan) Leber, and Raymond Sanders; many nieces, nephews, and other family members.
Including his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Jeff Sanders, and his sister Jess in infancy.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 PM on Tuesday, September 10, 2013, at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E. Perkins Ave, Sandusky, Ohio 44870. Funeral Services will be held, Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at 10:30 AM at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery.
