Yochi Oka Hudgin, 83, of Sandusky, passed away Friday afternoon, September 6, 2013 at Erie County Care Facility, following a lengthy illness.
She was born July 7, 1930, in Kagoshima, Japan to the late Yoshinobu and Toyochiyo Okamura.
Yochi was a 1947 graduate of Young Woman's School. She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. In her spare time she enjoyed sewing, crocheting, gardening, cooking, shopping, listening to music, and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her three children; Michael Oka (Marsha) of Canton, Patrick Thomas (Jahna) Hudgin of Fort Worth, Texas, and Mary Theresa Jordan of Willard; seven grandchildren, Jeremy Jordan, Sean Hudgin, Jennifer Jordan, Joshua Hudgin, Christopher Hudgin, Jessica Jordan, and Ryan Hudgin USN; two great-grandchildren; her brother, Murayoshimaru (Miyako) Okamura of Kagoshima Japan; many nieces, nephews, and other family members.
Including her Parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Nicholas John Hudgin in 1996.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, September 12, 2013 at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky, Ohio 44870. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
