With great sadness, the family of Carolyn Vanderpool announces her passing.
Deanie (Bud) Silcox of Willard, Ron and Deb Vanderpool of London OH, Rebecca (Kevin) Garry of Mason, OH and Mark Vanderpool of Norwalk lost the greatest mother in the whole wide world.
She died Saturday, September 21, 2013 in the Cleveland Clinic. Carolyn was born in Lodi, on February 13, to the late Arnold K. and Florence M. (Wiles) Jacobs and was a lifelong Ohio resident.
She was raised in Willard and confirmed in Trinity Lutheran Church. She later moved to Milan and Norwalk. Carolyn was a member of Edison Memorial United Methodist Church in Milan and was a former employee of Dairy Mart (Lawson's) and Rite Aid. She was a great cook and an avid, longtime Cleveland Indians fan. Carolyn especially enjoyed being a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
Besides her children, she is survived by her grandchildren, Andrew Silcox, Jennifer Silcox, and Kelly Huddleston and great grandchildren, Allison Silcox, Tatum Combs, and Mason Huddleston. Carolyn is also survived by her sisters, Arlene Dodd, of Lancaster PA, Jo Willoughby of Willard Oh, and Janet Simpson of Crofton, MD, and her brother and sister-in-law Ed and Carol Jacobs of California, along with many loving nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Pete Vanderpool in 2001, her grandson Shawn Vanderpool in 2003, and her brother Roger Jacobs in 2011.
Friends may call on Friday, September 27, 2013 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in Walker Funeral Home, 98 West Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio. Friends may also call on Saturday, September 28, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. in the Edison Memorial United Methodist Church, 10 East Church Street, Milan, Ohio. Rev. Dr. Dale Thomas, will officiate. Interment will be in Milan Cemetery.
