Thomas E. Kennedy, 86, Palm Harbor, FL, and formerly of Huron, died Saturday, September 14, 2013, in Suncoast Hospice, Palm Harbor.
He was born in New Castle, PA, and moved to Oldsmar, FL in 1988 from Huron.
He worked for the Baltimore and Ohio Railroads from 1951 to 1956, and was a pipe fitter for Ford Motor Co. in Sandusky retiring in 1986 after 31 years. Tom was a U.S. Navy veteran during WWII, and also was a 32nd degree Mason and Shriner.
He is survived by his sons, Timothy T. (Jewel) Kennedy, St. Cloud, FL, and Thomas C. (Sandra) Kennedy, Castalia, OH; step sons, Alfred A. (Judith) McCloy, Palm Harbor, FL, and Terry (Judith) McCloy, Stuart, FL; step daughter, Marlene McDaniel, Cincinnati, OH; 12 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Shirley Hite, Erie, PA, and Mariellen Fletcher, New Castle, PA; special friend Enid Scala; special niece, Kathy O'Loughlin; numerous other nieces and nephews; and his four legged son, Pepe.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian (McCloy) Kennedy; grandson, James T.B. Kennedy; brothers, Jack Kennedy and Bill Kennedy; and a son-in-law, Clete McDaniel.
A memorial service celebrating the life of Tom will be held at 11 A.M. Saturday, October 12, 2013 in the Sandusky Yacht Club, 529 E. Water St., Sandusky. The Science Lodge #50 F. & A.M. will hold memorial services and the American Legion Post 83 Honor Guard will provide the military tribute.
