She was also a member of the Norwalk First United Methodist Church, and was a former member of the Norwalk Women Jaycees. Dorothy was an avid sports fan, along with her late husband, Howard, who was the Athletic Director at Norwalk High School. She also loved to travel, and spent her last years doing so with her husband and daughter. Dorothy was extremely proud of her father, Harold Arlin, who was the first, ever, radio announcer, and for whom Arlin Field in Mansfield, Ohio is named.
