Gerald "Jerry" D. Smith, 93 years, of Bellevue, OH, died Sunday, Nov. 21, 2010, at the Willows at Bellevue following a brief illness.
He was born July 17, 1917, in Attica, OH, the son of Frank and Edith (Shade) Smith. He was a graduate of the former Attica High School and was employed by the France Stone Co. for over 40 years, retiring in 1982. He finished his career at the France North Baltimore, OH quarry as the maintenance manager. Jerry was a member of St John's Lutheran Church in Bellevue and was a 32nd degree member of the Bellevue Lodge F & AM 273 for over 40 years.
Survivors include his son, Jerry (Judy) Smith of Wauseon; 3 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren; and a brother, Bruce (Marabelle) Smith of Bellevue.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Betty; his second wife Dorothy (Blackwood) Smith; 3 brothers, Donald, Richard, and Eldon Smith; and 2 sisters, Eilene DeMarco and Madeline Bowers.
Visitation will be Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2010 4:00 - 8:00 PM at Foos and Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue, OH, Funeral service will be Wednesday, 2:00 pm at St. John's Lutheran Church, 209 Southwest St, Bellevue, OH 44811. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery.
