Craig A. McCloskey, 70, residing in Sandusky, passed away Friday afternoon, October 18, 2013 at Stein Hospice Care Center after a brief illness.
Craig was born on October 3, 1943 in Dayton, Ohio to the late Richard and Deloris (Voigt) McCloskey.
Craig graduated from St. Mary's Central Catholic in 1961 and was a veteran of the Air Force National Guard. He was retired from the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local #42 in Norwalk, Ohio and the U.A. National Union in Washington D.C.. Craig was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church in Huron, Ohio, the American Legion, Remember Crusin Car Club, and the Harley Owners Group. In his spare time, he enjoyed drag racing, watching golf and tennis on TV, dancing and playing the banjo. He was an avid car enthusiast; he enjoyed building and driving classic cars and attending car shows. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Craig is survived by his wife, Arlene (Branam) McCloskey. He is also survived by his three sons, Craig (Robin Fries) McCloskey II of Sandusky, Jason (Lindsey) McCloskey of Modesto, California and Shane (Marissa Mongiello) McCloskey of Venice Beach, California; grandchildren, Casey, Jacob, Connor, and Luke; sister, Tam (Bill) Dzubak of Columbus and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Friends may call on Wednesday, October 23, 2013 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E Perkins Ave, Sandusky. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 10:00 am at Holy Angels Catholic Church, 428 Tiffin Ave., Sandusky with Father Jeffrey McBeth presiding.
