Alex S. Ward, 44, of Norwalk, Ohio, died early Saturday morning, October 26 2013 in Fisher-Titus Medical Center.
He was born April 9, 1969 in Sandusky, Ohio and lived in this area most of his life.
Alex attended Norwalk High School and was an independent truck driver. He had also driven for Zeiter Trucking, and Tom Ward Trucking, and had worked at Industrial Powder Coatings. Alex was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan, Cleveland Indians, and Ohio State fan. He enjoyed working on cars and hotrods, fishing, hunting, going to his children's sporting events, and spending time with his family.
Alex is survived by his wife of 20 years, Alicia F. (Crookshanks) Ward, of Norwalk, Ohio, by his children, Dustin, of Norwalk, Ohio, Dakota and Steven Wireman of Greenwich, Ohio, Alex of Norwalk, Ohio and Andrew of Norwalk, Ohio, by his granddaughter, Miracle Dawn, by his mother, Eva H. (Ward) and Gregory Lonsway of Norwalk, Ohio, by his sisters, Tonda M. Meyer (Bob Nichols) of Norwalk, Ohio, and Monica R. Ward (Chad Griffey) of Bardstown, Kentucky, and by his step brother, Brian Lonsworth of Louisville, Kentucky.
He is also survived by his paternal grandmother, Emily Ward of Norwalk, Ohio, numerous Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces and Nephews. Alex was close to his many friends and thought of many of them as his brothers and sisters.
He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence Ward in 1997, by his granddaughter, Sophia in 2012, by his paternal grandfather, Valentine Ward, and by his maternal grandmother, Louise Greene.
Friends may call on Wednesday, October 30, 2013 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in Walker Funeral Home, 98 West Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio where funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 31, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Bob Hudberg, Pastor of the Foundation Church will officiate. Interment will be in Meadowgreen Memorial Park, Huron, Ohio.
