Carol A. Meyer, 65, of Norwalk, Ohio, died Monday evening, October 28, 2013, in the Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky, Ohio.
She was born December 24, 1947 in Norwalk, Ohio, to the late Anthony M. and Edna M. (Monica) Leroux, and was a lifelong area resident.
Carol was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church and was a former member of Eagles Aerie #711 Auxiliary and Firelands Post #2743 Veteran of Foreign Wars Auxiliary. She was a former employee of West Baking Company, the Norwalk Foundry, Allsport, Faulhaber, and was a former manager for Resse Brothers. Carol enjoyed riding, raising, and showing horses, raising Labradoodle and Pomkie dogs, playing bingo, going to Casino's and playing the slot machines, and especially enjoyed being with her family and friends. Carol and her husband, Fred, enjoyed going to outdoor mass at the Sorrowful Mother Shrine, and going to the local church festivals.
She is survived by her husband of 12 years, Frederick L. Meyer of Norwalk, Ohio, by her children, Timothy Leroux of Norwalk, Ohio, Rick Meyer of Sandusky, Ohio, Lisa (Ed) Leroux of Norwalk, Ohio, and Michele (Todd) Kenne of Norwalk, Ohio, 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Carol is also survived by her siblings, Diane M. (David) Perry, Mary (Bob) Sweet, Frances McKay, Michael J. (Rita) Leroux, Joseph (Cathleen) Leroux, Edward (Lisa) Leroux, Margaret (Chet) Gibson, and Richard Leroux, all of Norwalk, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Kathryn Fortner in 2013, and by her brother, Jackie Leroux.
Friends may call on Friday, November 1, 2013 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in Walker Funeral Home, 98 West Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Paul Catholic Church, 91 East Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio. Msgr. Kenneth Morman will officiate. Interment will be in St. Paul Cemetery.
