Wilma E. Manning, 99, of Sandusky, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday morning, October 30, 2013 in her home.
She was born on February 23, 1914 in Sandusky to the late Charles and Ida (Papenfuss) Wagner.
Wilma worked as a waitress for many years at Plum Brook Country Club and the Business Women's Club.
She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Sandusky. She loved to play canasta, bingo, write poetry, and spend time with her family.
She is survived by her daughters, Jeannine Buffington, of Willard, Ohio and Judy Christiansen , of Sandusky; grandchildren, Terri Sanders, Billy Buffington, Randy Buffington, Tom Buffington, Amy Christiansen, and Keith Christiansen; nine great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; sister, Ruth (Harry) Reisch, of Springfield, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Alfonso Manning, in 1981; step-mother, Helen (Lieb) Wagner; sisters, Florence Danby and Gladys Williams; and twin sister, Alma Wagner, at 6 months.
Friends may call on Monday, November 4, 2013 from 12 P.M. (Noon) until time of funeral services at 2 P.M. in Zion Lutheran Church, 503 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Rev. John Mawhirter will officiate. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery.
